My deepest condolences to the Shanahan family. Don was one the best hockey coaches I ever had. He took a bunch of leftover players to the high school junior finals in 1973, by implementing some unorthodox methods (to compensate for the lack of skill) and with a mischievousness twinkle in his eye, created a team I was proud to be a part of. Coach Shanahan showed us that there was always a way to get things done no matter what anyone thought. A fierce competitor on the ice and a gentle soul within. I will always remember you.
