Donald Patrick "Don"  Shanahan
SHANAHAN, DONALD PATRICK “Don” peacefully at his home in Brighton on Tuesday, January 17th, 2012, age 67 years. Don Shanahan, son of the late Patrick Shanahan and the late Margaret (Munro). Loving husband of Kathryn (Bird). Beloved father of Stephen, Meghan (Matt), Ian and Molly-Kate. Dear Grandfather of Sawyer. Survived by brothers Sean and Chris and predeceased by brother Kevin. A loving father and husband and respected teacher and naturalist, Don will be sadly missed by family, friends and colleagues. The family will welcome visitors at the Walas Funeral Home, 130 Main St, Brighton on Saturday, January 21st, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9. A Celebration of Don’s life will be held at the family home in May. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation or Royal Ontario Museum Red Knot Research, would be appreciated by the family.
