PARRY, Margaret (nee Cayton)
June 27th, 1933 – November 10th, 2018

Passed away at Hastings Manor Long Term Care, Belleville on Saturday, November 10th, 2018. Margaret Parry (nee Cayton), long-time resident of Belleville, Ontario age 85 years. She was born in Golborne, Lancashire, England, a daughter of the late James Cayton and Margaret Spibey. Predeceased by her husband Arthur (originally of Hagfold Farm, Atherton, Lancashire, England), by her youngest son James Keith and also recently by her sister-in-law Dorothy Swainston. Left to mourn by her eldest son Arthur Kevan (Cathy) of Brockville, granddaughters Michelle Harris (Ray) and Janis Parry-Hood (Mike) and great grandson Michael. Also survived by her two sisters-in-law Edna Cayton and Marcia Raspberry, and by many nieces and nephews and their children in Ontario and England. Also left to mourn are long-time close friends in Belleville. She was predeceased by all her beloved siblings and their spouses, brothers Kenneth William Thomas Cayton (Betty) and James Ronald Cayton (Ethel) and her sister Elsie May Wood (Frank).

Margaret was well known in Belleville for her tailoring knowledge and skills at home and at various employers (Sears, Milady Shop, Burke’s Menswear) and for members of former Canadian Forces Station Cobourg (14 Field Artillery Battery (M)) and Canadian Forces Base Trenton.

Margaret voyaged to Canada on the 4th of September 1952 aboard the Cunard liner ‘GEORGIC’ (Southampton to New York) to join her fiancé Arthur (printer by trade, and later Queen’s Printer at Cobourg and Trenton) who had preceded her on the same ship on the 18th of April 1952; and they would be married on February 14th 1953 in Guelph, Ontario.

In keeping with Margaret’s wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be held at the JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave. Belleville (613-968-5588) on Thursday, November 15th, 2018 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Private Interment will be at Belleville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice are appreciated.
