The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Theresa Kellaway can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

I grieve for the loss of this close friend just as I thank God for letting me know her so well. I hope Bellevillians will appreciate Theresa as much as I do. To the people of Belleville, she will be remembered as a forthright citizen who questioned irregularities and forced answers from reluctant office-holders. She spoke to power without hesitation, and in doing so prevented much loss to the city’s wonderful resources. Most prominent amongst these was the waterfront, which was almost lost as a public treasure. Whenever Bellevillians take a stroll along that waterfront, enjoying the breeze from the Bay from which Theresa took ice with her father, showing their children the tortoises that now inhabit the shoreline, enjoying the changing of the leaves and their re-appearance in the springtime, and walking their own dogs in the sunshine of any season, they should remember Theresa Kellaway. What a legacy. What a woman!
