The Hike

In the early 60's Kids didn't have Computer games, iPads, cell phones. Nope we read, we pinned tea towels in our hair and play Wedding. We had a new thing for girls, the "Barbie Doll". And Lorna Lundy had the best doll house. I have happy childhood memories, oh gosh, the memories of camping, of Christmas Eve, it wouldn't have been Christmas Eve without Mr. Lundy coming over ring bells, and bring cheer! All wonderful memories, but the memory that I love the most, was the time our Fathers Organized a "Hike". Our Dads, both of whom are, or were Vetrans. My Dad was Army and Mr.L was Airforce. Anyway, that day, the day our Dads took us on a hike. We started in our back yard and we were gone all afternoon as I recall. I don't remember what we saw and did, but our busy Fathers took time. I loved the attention I got from the two most important men in my young life, my Father and Mr. Lundy. Rest in Peace Sir. Thank you for being so........Mr. Lundy. You're Awesome in my eyes.
