Condolences

Condolence From: Howard
Condolence: How many great stories did he bring us; he gave a voice to Leslie Lemke, and others who would otherwise have remained nameless. RIP>

Condolence From: Rita Morbia, Executive Director, Inter Pares
Condolence: It was with sadness that we learned of the death of Roy Bonisteel. Mr. Bonisteel was one of Inter Pares’ first “celebrity” spokespeople, a role he carried out with conviction and commitment. He supported our international social justice work in the ‘80s and into the ‘90s and lent his name to initiatives that addressed women’s rights, economic justice, and democracy. His endorsement lead us to a whole new cadre of incredibly supportive donors, many of whom are still with us. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Roy Bonisteel was a true friend of Inter Pares and left a profound legacy of peace, justice and equality. Our thoughts are with his family. May he rest in peace.

Condolence: It was a privilege to have had Roy Bonisteel as a patron of the Quinte Ballet School of Canada. I met Roy many times over the past 25 years through QBSC and the Quinte Symphony. He will be greatly missed.

Condolence From: Andy Forgie
Condolence: Roy, I was honoured to have had you as a friend and mentor in my life. Your kindness and support, that you showed me in my early days as a children's entertainer, will remain with me always. As you wrote in your short story "A Christmas Story" " Maybe that's what Heaven is...memories" Roy you will always have a special place in my memories"

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Roy's passing. I worked on Man Alive with Roy during the late 70's and early 80's. He was terrific to work with....professional but most of all he was a real gentleman with a smile on his face. And I remember a joyous day at his farm in Prince Edward County and Christmas parties where we all sang carols. He will be missed.

Condolence From: Ruggles Constant & Stephanie Boynton
Condolence: Mandy, Lesley and Steven:
My daughter Stephanie is sending these greetings from both of us because I don't type.
Your father, Roy, was a very dear friend since we met in 1968 and have remained good friends, shared birthdays and news of family from time to time.
He preached at every pastoral charge that I served and I had the privilege of nominating him for the Order of Canada. The people I approached from Catholic Bishops to leaders in universities and college responded gratefully to support that nomination.
He was really in touch with where the little people are and very imposing in stature. As my daughter said, when she was 5 years old and he knocked on the door, "Mommy, it's the Jolly Green Giant, Hurry". He was pretty big compared to a 5 year old.
We never ended a phone call without saying "I love you" to one another.
Thank you Roy for your gift of life to all you touched.
In love and friendship,
Ruggles and Stephanie
