SAMPSON, Geraldine Iva “Gerry” – It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Gerry at the Kingston General Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family, on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016. Gerry was in her 77th year. Daughter of the late Clayton and Florence Hawley. She leaves behind her beloved husband Sam. Loving mother to Michael (Shona) of Elliot Lake, Brian (Kim) and Todd Sampson of Belleville. She is survived by sisters Frances Dainard, Eleanor Osterlee, Vera Mayne (George), Faye Everhardus (Gary) all of Picton, and Brenda Freeborn of Bloomfield. Gerry is pre-deceased by her twin brother Gerald Hawley, and sisters Jean, Hilda, Thelma and Phyllis. Devoted nanny to Riley, MacKenzie, Devin, Mikaela, and Megan. In keeping with Gerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at the Salvation Army Belleville Citadel (290 Bridge St. W.) on Saturday, March 26th, 2016 at 12noon (with visitation one hour prior from 11:00a.m. – time of service). Interment will be held at Belleville Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613-968-5588). If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Kingston General Hospital ICU Department, or the Salvation Army Belleville would be appreciated by the family.
