Freda Collar
Collar, Zella Alfreda of Glen Miller, passed away peacefully at Westgate Lodge, Belleville on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 in her 93rd year. Wife of the late Clifford Collar for 40 years, the love of her life from childhood until her passing. Born in Frankford Ontario, July 28, 1925, she was one of four siblings of the late Blanchard and Ida May Woodcox, born in Flinton Ontario. Loving mother of son Randy and daughter-in-law Lois Collar, daughter Joylene Collar, daughter Jeannie and son-in-law Bill Allore, son Michael Collar, the late baby boy Blanchard and baby girl Heather Collar.Dear Sister of Shirley Hennessey, the late Blake Woodcox, Noreen Ireland and Maxine Terry. Loved by grandchildren, Brad and wife Jenn Collar, Cory and wife Alison Collar, Tracy and husband Daniel Maddux. Great grandchildren Lorrissa, Jaidlynn, Mackenzee, Morgan, Myles, Danielle and Jessica. Mrs Collar resided in Glen Miller Ontario from the age of 2 years old. She was educated in Glen Miller Schools, and employed by the Glen Miller Paper Board until her marriage to her one true love, Clifford Collar, July 31, 1943. Once starting their family, she became a loving, devoted, stay at home mom to their four children and she, along with her husband devoted may years aiding in the foster care system providing a safe, loving, home for many children in need. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and play the guitar. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Ladies of Columbus and past Trenton Council member. She will be truly missed and forever in our hearts. Friends are invited to call at the Rushnell Funeral Centre, 60 Division St., Trenton on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered from St. Peter's Catholic Church, Trenton on Wednesday, April 11th, 2018 at 11:00a.m. Fr. Francis Zambon officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
