It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother Joan Gaunt of Marmora, who died peacefully at Campbellford Memorial Hospital on April 17, 2023 in her 86th year, with family by her side.
Joan was the beloved wife of the late Gilbert Gaunt, with whom she shared an amazing 55 years of marriage until our dad's passing in 2010.
Cherished mother of Catharine Campion (Bill), Sandra Gaunt, Alan Gaunt (Mary Ann) and her sweet four-legged companion, Lucy. She was a devoted mother who was always there for us and considered the family that she and dad raised to be her finest achievement.
Joan is survived by her sister Joyce Jenkins, her sister-in-law June Vilneff and her brother-in-laws Donald Gaunt and Robert Gaunt. Predeceased by her siblings Lionel Brown, Evelyn Stuckey, Grace Devolin, Mary Baker, Doug Vilneff and Ruth Galloway. Fondly remembered by her many family members and friends.
Mom and dad enjoyed their many adventures exploring Canada in their R.V. and attending blue grass jamborees. They loved music and played for many different functions.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Campbellford Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care and attention.
Cremation has taken place with a private graveside service to take place at a later date.
