Cyril Glenn Shaw
passed peacefully with his family by his side on May 20, 2023 in his 89th year. Loving husband of the late Isabella Shaw (nee Sager). Proud father of Scott Shaw (Beth), Stirling; Karen Wilman (Wayne), Eldorado; Debbie Wilman (Dale), Marmora; Susan Blakely (Pete), Eldorado; and Marty Shaw (Leanne), Belleville; grandfather of Andrew (Keely), Melinda (James), Josie (Shea), Wesley (Gina), David, Shawna, Matthew, and Cameron; and great-grandfather of Thorton. Brother of the late Garn Peacock ( late Shirley). Brother-in-Law of Robert Sager (Shirley) and Betty Wood (Floyd). Special friend Carolyn Doucette.
Cyril was born on his Family Homestead and continued farming until only a few years ago. His maple syrup company Shaw’s Eldora Maple has been a decades long success. Many homes are built on Cyril’s foundations and heated by his chimneys. Cyril enjoyed playing and coaching softball for most of his life and curled for 50 years. Isabella and Cyril danced through their retirement by attending jamborees where Isabella would sing and Cyril would dance for hours! Cyril was an industrious man all his life … the last few years, a great deal of time was spent keeping his freezer full of apple, blueberry and rhubarb pies.
Friends will be received at the RUSHNELL FUNERAL HOME, 112 Durham St. S, Madoc on Monday, June 5 from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Funeral service in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 1pm.
