Condolence From: Wally Donohue
Condolence: Carole and Family: The Ring family have been friends for years. It started in Newburgh ON when his Dad worked for CNR and we lived across the road from the CNR station. We obtained our first dog from his mother. I spent few summers in Colborne playing hardball with Wayne who was sports director in Colborne while staying with family. Last time I spoke to Ben was in Brighton at his office. I remember your home on the hill up from your Dad's and his mothers. May your days ahead go on as they did in the past. My deepest condolences. WALLY DONOHUE

Condolence From: Christopher Andrus
Condolence: Carole,Janelle & Carla, Our sincere condolences. I started to write a couple of lines about some of the times we all spent together in Rednersville but, as you can imagine, it quickly got out of hand. I do remember when my dad & I first met Ben - he wandered into our back yard looking for a cat - two days in a row. I distinctly remember when Ben finally admitted that there was no lost cat - as he was sitting on the deck with a drink in his hand. Unfortunately, Mimi and I will not be able to attend the service but you and your family will be in our thoughts. Much love, Chris & Mimi

Condolence: Carole, Janelle and Carla We were saddened to learn of Ben's passing. What a great buddy since Colborne High School days. It was always interesting being around Ben from the time I first met him. We had some great adventures during those years, some that got better with the retelling and others that best remain untold. I remember our fishing trips up the Napanee river with Ben's little bulldog Danny who was always jumping out of the boat to attack the fish (-net the fish, then net Danny). We joined the reserve artillery regiment in Cobourg together when we were 17. We have some interesting experiences together with the guns, the sergeants, and the junior ranks mess - read bar. Our high school years were way too much fun, cars, dances, girls, beer, etc. I well remember the Colborne High Rose Queen contest, which was about the time Ben and Carole got together. After high school we saw each other less, as we pursued separate careers. When we retired and moved back to Brighton in 1995 we reconnected and we saw a lot of Ben and Carole. Ben sponsored me into Rotary and we enjoyed the fellowship of the Brighton club. We vacationed together several times. We have fond memories of Ben at a Catholic church dance in Marystown, Newfoundland still dancing up a storm at 3:00 am. Ben had to slow down as Parkinsons took it's toll on him, but he fought bravely on and never gave up. Carole you were such a dedicated caregiver, that allowed Ben to stay at home for longer than many. So sad that such a character has passed on. Rest in peace old buddy, we'll keep telling your stories now.

Condolence: I have many great memories of Ben, especially on the ball field. I've known him for a very long time. We had many laughs together. He is the one who rescued Reggie (my cat) and brought him to me for adoption. He was a kind hearted man. Anyone who loves animals as much as he did will have a special place in heaven. I just know that he will be put in charge of all the animals who went before. You will be missed Ben.

Condolence: Such a sweet loving man. My sympathies to family and friends. He was always so thoughtful to my kids when they were little, always asking about them. I remember the dog house with the shower. Him and Carol having us over for a BBQ and my kids swimming in the pool. Him dropping by my flower shop often. One of my favorite Brighton people for sure.
